Amanda Deadman is a British mixed media artist whose work explores the relationship between beauty, texture, calm and emotional escape through intricately layered sculptural artworks inspired by nature.
Working from her Oxfordshire studio, Amanda creates tactile wall pieces that invite a slower, more sensory way of looking at art — combining hand-shaped polymer clay, moulded and cut watercolour paper, resin and carefully constructed surface textures to produce richly detailed compositions that shift with light, shadow and perspective.
Originally trained in 3D Design and Photography at West Surrey College of Art and Design, Amanda began her creative career producing kiln-formed glass for the prestigious Aaronson Galleries in Piccadilly, London and Edinburgh. Alongside her sculptural work, she has spent many years creating photo-realistic paintings in watercolour and acrylic, exhibiting across London and throughout the UK, with works now held in private collections internationally.
Today, her practice has evolved into something more immersive and emotionally led — creating artworks that are designed not only to be viewed, but deeply felt. Inspired by organic forms, intricate natural patterns and the restorative qualities of tactile making, her collections are intended to bring a sense of calm, quiet luxury and visual sanctuary into interior spaces.
Each piece is painstakingly built by hand using layered materials and repetitive, meditative processes that reflect Amanda’s belief in creativity as a form of stillness, sensory wellbeing and emotional restoration. The resulting works sit somewhere between sculpture, painting and ornament — balancing complexity with softness, and detail with serenity.
Amanda’s artworks are available in the website shop
and through selected galleries, private commissions and international online collections.
